Corporate Resume
Founded in 1915, Black & Veatch has become one of the largest and most diversified engineering/construction firms in the world, providing a full complement of engineering, procurement, and construction services to the water, power, infrastructure, and process markets. Black & Veatch is a leader in the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants. Black & Veatch has helped utilities across the United States and worldwide to plan and implement wastewater treatment plants that incorporate a wide range of automation technologies. Black & Veatch's Instrumentation & Controls Division provides a wide range of control systems and SCADA engineering services, including control system design, system integration, control system configuration and start-up. As a multi-discipline firm, Black & Veatch's I&C division has access to the company's full range of process, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff, should any discipline-specific technical or process operations questions arise during an implementation effort. Black & Veatch's instrumentation and control system expertise is derived from an extensive 25-year project base with utility clients for whom Black & Veatch has provided an array of control system solutions. Within the water and wastewater utility industry, the company's control system project experience includes facilities ranging in capacity from 1 to 600 mgd. They have completed over 175 control system projects across the United States and around the world including the application of programmable logic controllers on 120 projects, remote transmitting units on 50 projects, PC-based servers and workstations on 40 projects, distributed control systems on 20 projects, pre-qualification and bid evaluation from potential suppliers on 70 projects, application programming services on 35 projects and control system coordination with packaged control systems for emerging technology (ozone, UV disinfection, and membranes) on 15 projects.
